St. Matthew Catholic Church, Franklin, TN, is seeking a part-time accompanist. Primary responsibility is accompanying the children’s choirs at rehearsals and Liturgies during the school year. Masses are at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and rehearsals are after school at 3:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The children’s choirs sing periodically at weekend Liturgies (Saturday at 5:00 p.m., and Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.) as well. Attendance when children’s choirs sing at weekend Masses would also be required. Responsibilities average around 8 hours per/week during the school year. Piano skills required, organ skills a plus. Experience with a wide range of styles is helpful. Previous experience in a Catholic setting is preferred. There is additional opportunity for accompanying adult choirs and weekend Liturgies based on abilities and interest. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
