Holy Rosary Academy (HRA) is Nashville’s only private school to receive the National Blue Ribbon Award twice for academic excellence. A welcoming and caring community, centrally located in Davidson County and approximately 10 minutes from downtown Nashville, the academy serves and is convenient for families from multiple suburbs and several neighboring counties. Our school community is proud of our rich heritage which spans more than six decades. Our student body is almost 330 students strong, whose ages range from 3 to 14. Holy Rosary Academy employs a highly qualified, energetic, talented, and skillful faculty. We are currently looking for committed teachers to complement our collaborative and talented workforce. The ideal candidate will be passionate and innovative with the ability to reach students and form positive relationships with mutual respect and trust. Prospective candidates must be able to prepare and implement a full educational teaching plan, according to the school’s requirements. In addition to providing knowledge and instruction to students, teacher candidates must also help students develop their character, emotional, and social skills. He or she will know how to organize a class and make learning fun, rewarding and meaningful. At HRA, we strive to help cultivate our students’ interest in learning and serve as their dedicated ally in their overall development.

Nashville has so much to offer in the area of sports, the arts, and entertainment. Our conveniently located Academy is only 5 minutes from the Nashville International Airport, 14 minutes from East Nashville, 15 minutes from Mt. Juliet, 15 minutes from Antioch, 16 minutes from The Nations, and 16 minutes from the 12 South area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and advocate for the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Present Spanish lessons in a comprehensive manner and use instructional technology/visual/audio and a variety of teaching strategies as a means to facilitate learning
  • Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings, events, etc. as necessary
  • Observe and understand students’ spiritual, behavioral, social and emotional needs
  • Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending training, seminars, conferences etc.
  • Serve as an excellent team member for colleagues
  • Serve as positive promoter of our school to our stakeholders and the public
  • Support the vision, direction, and directives of the Church and School Administration
  • Be an active member of the total school program by occasionally attending and at times be willing to sponsor or coach after school clubs, athletics, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Support and advocate for the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Excellent writing skills in English and Spanish and strong ability to translate written and verbal communication for stakeholders/school personnel
  • Proven experience as a teacher, student teacher, or experience working with children
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines, partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work alone and also in a team-oriented environment
  • Well-organized educator who is committed, passionate, and innovative
  • Bring a significant amount of energy to the position coupled with innovation and creativity
  • Strong moral values and work ethic

Preferred, but Not Required:

  1. Active Catholic
  2. Masters or other Advanced Degree
  3. Degree in teaching or in Spanish with a certificate/state licensure or ability and willingness to secure licensure in the near future
