Holy Rosary Academy is seeking a passionate, creative, positive, and dedicated teacher with desire to inspire our students and help them grow academically and spiritually in a Catholic school environment. This candidate should possess knowledge of instructional best practices, the role of data and assessment in student progress and growth, and classroom management. This candidate should have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.
The duties listed below are typically performed by an employee in this classification. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and activities required of the position, and other duties may be assigned as needed by the principal.
This is a full-time teaching position.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging and challenging lessons for ELA and Religion.
- Use assessments and other data to help track progress and set individual student and grade level goals.
- Understanding the Diocese of Nashville curriculum standards in ELA and Religion and how to implement them in a Catholic school.
- Provide an example of a disciple of Christ and a willingness to share and witness the Catholic faith with students, staff, and community.
- Continually communicate with students and parents about student progress, expectations, and needs.
- Communicate and collaborate with colleagues.
- Effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents/guardians via telephone, email, notes, and newsletters.
- Supervise students in various environments, such as classrooms, assemblies, field trips, and recess.
Schedule
- School year from 7:5am-3:30pm.
- School and Parish community events outside of the school day.
- Staff meeting and professional development meetings.
- Supervise study hall, recess, and advisory.
Qualifications
- BA in Education. TN teacher’s license or working towards TN licensure is required.
- Practicing Catholic who strongly desires to share your faith with others and create a learning environment that enhances the faith experience of our students.
- Works well with others while maintaining an enthusiastic, positive, and helpful attitude.
- Must have a positive mindset toward child learning and development while being flexible and adaptive in potentially stressful situations.
- Works effectively and collegially with others.
- Ability to work without supervision, make common sense decisions, and use good judgment.
- Ability to take direction from the administration and keep them appropriately informed.
- Maintains appropriate conduct in the classroom and throughout the campus.
- Uses good people skills and behavior that is professional, collegial, respectful and maintains a positive environment while treating all people as you would want to be treated.
- Keep information confidential and conduct all activities with integrity and honesty.
- To be present, ready to work, and on time for all scheduled hours.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment.
- Participate in extra-curricular activities in school as appropriate
