Description

Saint Cecilia Academy seeks a Head Girls’ Varsity Volleyball Coach who is passionate about forming young women through sport—developing them physically, mentally, and spiritually. The ideal candidate is a committed Christian who aligns with the school’s mission and values and who can lead a disciplined,
competitive, and Christ-centered volleyball program. This coach will be responsible for overseeing the entire 7–12 volleyball program at Saint Cecilia Academy, helping to develop a cohesive and mission-aligned pipeline from middle school to varsity. This position requires strong leadership, volleyball expertise, and a genuine desire to mentor student-athletes on and off the court.

Key Responsibilities

Athletic and Program Development
• Build a comprehensive volleyball program rooted in excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
• Oversee all levels of the program (grades 7–12), ensuring alignment in coaching philosophy and player development.
• Plan and lead effective practices and competitive game strategies.
• Create a culture of discipline, accountability, and high performance.
• Develop players across all skill levels, with an emphasis on teamwork, resilience, and leadership.
• Collaborate with the strength and conditioning coach to support physical development and injury prevention.

Faith & Character Formation

• Integrate Christian values into coaching philosophy—viewing sport as a platform for virtue formation.
• Foster a team environment where prayer, joy, and mutual respect are part of daily life.
• Mentor student-athletes in leadership, integrity, and servant-hearted competition.
• Collaborate with the school’s chaplain or theology faculty to offer spiritual enrichment opportunities.
• Build a culture of sisterhood, where older players mentor younger teammates and contribute to a unified, Christ-centered program.

Program Leadership & School Engagement
• Recruit and mentor assistant and middle school coaches who embody the school’s mission.
• Help develop a long-term vision for volleyball at Saint Cecilia, including outreach to potential feeder programs and middle school partnerships.
• Coordinate with the athletic department to organize events, retreats, and service initiatives.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with student-athletes, families, and the broader school community.
• Be a visible and positive presence in the life of the school.

Qualifications
• Practicing Christian with a sincere desire to support the Catholic identity and mission of Saint Cecilia Academy.
• Previous volleyball coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and develop both foundational and advanced skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Deep passion for forming young women in virtue and leadership through athletics.
