The Interventionist supports the mission of the Catholic school by providing targeted academic instruction and interventions for students who require additional support in reading, mathematics, and other core subject areas. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, and school leadership, the interventionist identifies student needs, implements research-based instructional strategies, monitors progress, and fosters student success while modeling Catholic values and promoting the dignity of every child.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and individualized instruction in reading, mathematics, and other identified academic areas.
• Design and implement evidence-based intervention plans that address students’ individual learning needs.
• Work closely with classroom teachers to identify students requiring intervention and coordinate instructional support.
• Participate in student support meetings, parent conferences, and faculty meetings as needed.
• Communicate regularly with teachers and families regarding student progress and recommendations.
• Support and uphold the mission, philosophy, and teachings of the Catholic Church.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Reading, Special Education, or a related field required.
• Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices, assessment tools, and progress monitoring.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Strong understanding of literacy and mathematics intervention strategies.
• Effective classroom management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move throughout the school building.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift instructional materials up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to supervise and engage with students in classroom settings.

Terms of Employment

• Could be a full time or part time role depending on candidate need.
