General Music (PreK-4th Grades) and Choir (5th-8th Grades)
The Music Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in grades PreK through 8. This individual will provide engaging, challenging, and faith-centered lessons that not only strengthen students' music skills but also nurture their growth as thoughtful and compassionate individuals. The ideal candidate will have a strong Catholic identity, a deep understanding of music concepts, choir practices, and musical theater production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver effective, faith-integrated lessons in General Music and Choir to students in grades Prek-8.
- Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where all students are encouraged to explore their musical talents.
- Design assessments, assignments, and activities to monitor and support student progress.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to address diverse learning styles and needs.
- Assist in the production of Grandparents Day, Evening of the Arts, and concerts.
- Foster the spiritual growth of students by incorporating Catholic teachings and values into the curriculum.
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.
- Uphold the mission and values of the Catholic faith in daily interactions and instruction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education, or a related field (required).
- Strong Catholic identity and commitment to living out the values of the Catholic faith in the classroom.
- Excellent classroom management skills and ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Ability to integrate faith and academics effectively.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential, both academically and spiritually.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Teaching License with endorsement in Music.
- Familiarity with using technology in the classroom, including educational software and interactive learning tools.
