The Dominican Campus in Nashville is seeking to hire security staff to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Security Officer plays an essential role in supporting the mission of the Dominican Campus Schools, where safety, respect, and hospitality reflect the values of our faith.

Security Officers work as part of a collaborative security team to ensure that all safety and security procedures are followed throughout the campus.

Position Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available

Employment Status: At-Will, Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and patrol campus grounds, buildings, and entrances to ensure the safety and security of students, employees, and visitors.
  • Greet and assist all guests in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the school’s Catholic identity and mission of hospitality.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity; respond appropriately to emergencies, including medical or security incidents.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, drills, incidents, and logs.
  • Secure doors, gates, and other access points according to campus protocols.
  • Support school operations during special events, drop-off and pick-up times, and other activities requiring additional supervision.
  • Collaborate with school administrators and staff to enforce campus policies and uphold a respectful, faith-centered environment.
  • Remain alert, professional, and discreet at all times, maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred as well as active interest in ongoing training and professional development
  • Excellent observation and communication skills
  • Ability to respond prudently, quickly, calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of a Catholic school community
  • Valid driver’s license required; security or CPR/First Aid certification preferred
  • Necessary certifications for armed security in the State of Tennessee

Compensation and Schedule

  • Hourly position, non-exempt
  • Flexible scheduling available (daytime, evening, or weekend shifts)
