About Holy Rosary

Celebrating 70 years as a parish and school, Church of the Holy Rosary seeks a skilled and mission-driven Director of Music and Liturgy to develop and lead a vibrant music ministry. With approximately 800 families in our parish and a commitment to liturgical excellence, this role is integral to our worship.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a comprehensive music program in alignment with the directives of the Second Vatican Council, particularly Sacrosanctum Concilium and Musicam Sacram.
• Build and direct choir(s)/schola(e), engaging parishioners in various roles.
• Coordinate music for weekend Masses of varying levels of solemnity and for other liturgies, including funerals, weddings, and sacramental celebrations.
• Embrace the Catholic Church’s musical tradition of chant and organ while incorporating more modern sacred music as appropriate.
• Foster teamwork with other parish ministries and promote a collaborative environment
• Provide educational opportunities for musicians and the parish community regarding liturgical music. Prepare worship aids as needed.
• Assist with the selection of music that enhances worship, as well as reflecting Catholic teachings and practices.
• Serve on the Parish Leadership Team

Desired Qualifications

• A devout Catholic with a deep understanding of Catholic Church teaching on music, especially as articulated in Musicam Sacram.
• Experience in building and leading music programs, with a focus on organ and chant, with appropriate use of other instruments and choral ensembles.
• Strong choral direction skills are preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience coordinating ministry efforts.
• Knowledge of and experience of a range of sacred music.
• Spanish language skills and familiarity with Spanish liturgical repertoire are preferred.
