This isn’t just a job. It’s a calling to transform lives, sanctify Hendersonville, and build a joyful, faith-filled community for grades 6–12!

Who We Are

At Our Lady of the Lake, we’re laser-focused on sanctifying Hendersonville by meeting the sacramental, spiritual, and social needs of our community. We’re a family-focused parish, committed to excellence, rooted in prayer, and driven by a welcoming culture that invites all to encounter Christ. Our Faith Formation program is at the heart of this mission, forming students into authentic disciples through the transformative Zeal Confirmation program by Pathways Faith and Family Life Catholic Ministries.

What You’ll Do

As the Coordinator of Faith Formation for Middle and High School, you’ll inspire and lead middle and high school students into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through engaging catechesis, relational ministry, and vibrant community-building. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Ignite Faith Through Catechesis

  • Lead a robust catechetical program rooted in the Zeal curriculum, guiding teens to:
    • Build a personal relationship with Christ through Scripture and the sacraments.
    • Embrace clear, faithful Church teachings in moral, liturgical, and doctrinal life.
    • Develop a missionary mindset for evangelization and spiritual leadership.
  • Facilitate weekly faith formation sessions that are theologically sound, age-appropriate, and inspiring.
  • Prepare teens for the Sacrament of Confirmation with retreats, service projects, and mentorship, involving families as the primary educators in faith.

Build Relationships That Transform

  • Lead a team of catechists and volunteers to foster meaningful connections with youth.
  • Facilitate weekly small groups for deeper discipleship and spiritual growth.
  • Organize retreats, mission trips, and youth conferences like Catholic Heart Workcamp, Steubenville, and NCYC.
  • Plan fun, engaging social events to build community and invite new teens into parish life.
  • Be a presence in local schools, inviting youth to encounter Christ and join our parish family.

Inspire Mission and Service

  • Engage teens in Works of Mercy, service projects, and community outreach to live their faith boldly.
  • Encourage participation in liturgical roles like altar servers, lectors, and musicians.
  • Foster a missionary culture among youth and their families.

Lead with Vision

  • Collaborate with the Director of Faith Formation to recruit, train, and mentor volunteers.
  • Plan an annual ministry calendar and budget, ensuring alignment with our parish mission.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, equipping them to lead faith formation at home.
  • Ensure compliance with Diocese of Nashville Safe Environment protocols, including training and audits.
  • Manage records, create content for parish media, and participate in diocesan youth ministry events.

Who We are Looking For

  • A practicing, fully initiated Roman Catholic who is faithful to all Church teachings and passionate about sharing the faith.
  • Experienced in youth ministry or catechesis, with a heart for evangelizing middle and high school students.
  • A strong communicator with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with technology (Canva, Google Workspace, parish management systems) and social media.
  • Zealous, humble, joyful, and deeply rooted in a personal life of prayer.
  • High School Diploma required; Spanish fluency preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and drive to off-site events.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Setting: Office and classroom, with a flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend events (Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons/evenings required).
  • Travel: Occasional trips for retreats, camps, and conferences.
  • Reports to: Director of Faith Formation
